Journey into the pristine, quiet waters of the keys’ backcountry. Cross aquamarine waters and watch for dolphins and sea turtles,then glide between uninhabited mangrove islands on crystal clear water only inches deep. Stingrays and small bonnet-head, lemon and nurse sharks are commonly seen. Stretch your legs walking amongst tidal pools harboring crabs, fish and “killer snails.” Here osprey and bald eagles soar and flocks of white ibis may be found.
Glide over a vast garden of large vibrantly colored sponges.
Conclude your adventure by skirting a mangrove rookery of raucous wading birds,cormorants and pelicans. This tour spans shallow open waters and requires calm winds. Summer tours depart late afternoon only and return into the sunset.
